Keep your health in balance with regular urine tests
JOINCIRCLES was born out of a very personal experience. When I turned 35 I was diagnosed with breast cancer, and it was only 3 years later that I came across the concept of DNA Health tests. The tests showed me that I had been on a path to this diagnosis for many years. A path that I could have stepped off if I’d known these results earlier.
That said, it’s never too late to try and rectify your health concerns, and armed with my DNA results, I set out to balance my body and get my health back on track.
Two years later, a urine hormone metabolites test told me my markers were all looking great, thanks to radical changes in my diet and lifestyle.
I was so taken by the momentous power of both these tests and the DNA health tests that, together with my friend Margie, I started a business based on them. I checked my urine regularly and felt immensely empowered and positive.
Things were going really well.
But then I got busy.
It should never have happened. I became stressed, started to sleep less, and started to fight the fatigue with caffeine.
When I went for my most recent annual urine test, the results showed that I had slipped. Despite leading what I had thought was a healthful, toxin-free life, I found I had estrogen dominance and estrogen excess. My cortisol was raised, as was my testosterone, I wasn’t methylating and, most shockingly of all, my BPA levels were high (yes, the new 'Urine Hormone Metabolites BIG test' now checks for BPA which is fab!)
I was devastated. Seeing those figures in black and white took me back to the time of my diagnosis, and the terrible feelings of shock, hurt and disappointment that debilitated me over that period.

As I worked through the whirlwind of emotions racking my body and thought about where and how to refocus my health regime, a more positive emotion began to rise above the hurt and anger. I felt empowered.
I know my risk factors and I know what I can do to reduce them. I can change my supplement regime, cut down on caffeine and alcohol, watch my weight, exercise more, eat more protein and make sure I am filling my plate with rainbow foods.
I am immensely grateful that I could see an imbalance in my biochemistry before detecting a recurrence on a scan.
There is nothing more valuable than being able to take your health into your own hands, and that is what these tests have allowed me to do.
I hope you can gain as much from them as I have.
